still waiting for the lightbulb moment! Had a look at the job sites, same old jobs still there, should there be a law against it?
In the last three weeks I have sent by email , 73 CV's. I got 16 automated replys, I got 5 Interviews, I got one "We are sorry" letter back and that is not counting the numerous ones that I have sent by post. Where do they all go? Is there a CV heaven? Is there someone in Cyberland having a laugh at my expense, has someone got a bet on to see if I can be the one hundereth person to send a CV and then there will be bells and whistles and I will have won a prize

Pull yourself together
I am getting very frustrated by these going's on. Am I forever destined to be on the scrap heap? Why did I fork out all that cash ( that I could use now) to further my education. I even resorted to not putting any qualifications on my CV and cutting out anything that might work against me, but to no avail. So where am I going wrong? I cannot answer that just at this min, but maybe I will get a lightbulb moment in the coming days.
Feeling sorry for myself this morning, so off to get some caffeine and contemplate the day, oh and trawl through the jobs websites. Why do they advertise the same jobs over and over when they are not real jobs or I have been told weeks ago that the positions have been filled? Are they just getting kicks out of playing with my head?

Another Day Dawns
Well I wonder what today will bring......nothing most likely! As mentioned before, why do people not call you back when they say they will?
I sent an email yesterday to an interviewer who had promised to get back to me by Monday. Imagine my surprise when I got a reply, from his email address........from the person that had actually got the job!!! now that was a bit saucy, don't you think. I really wanted to send him a strongly worded letter outlining my distaste at his lack of respect, but then decided not to bother because at the end of the day, does he care how I feel? NO

The Snob
The Snob in me has gone out the window!!
I have been cured of the sin of snobbery.
It was very minor snobbery, really. It was limited to the conviction that name-brand items are superior to those sold under supermarket own brands.
I now resort to using the millions of shampoo and shower gels gathered from various hotels over the years - you know the drawer somewhere that is overflowing with them until they are dumped, Well no more they are now almost treat like.
I have more space in my kitchen presses because now I am not buying all the unprounancable stuff that ends up in the bin way past it's sell by date
I am decluttered because I can no longer afford to clutter.

Agencies
They've always been around, and they're an amoral, revolting bunch.
Nonetheless, I've been surprised at just how low some of them are.
There are companies that post fake job ads so that, brimming with hope and desperation, you'll send them your CV. Then they call you, ask you to come to their office for an interview. Of course you go, dressed in your best interview clothes. The office is sumptuous. The people are well dressed. The pitch is slick, we'll show you how to find the high-paying hidden jobs, the ones that are never advertised, the positions only we know about.
If you do fall for that pitch, you'll only spend money you can't afford to spend, you'll almost certainly never get a job through them, and they, are the only ones who will benefit. How do you think they can afford those offices?
They are on massive targets to send certain numbers of candidates through for interviews every month and they do this by uptalking to the vulnerable who are grasping at straws in the hope of employment opportunities. I am lucky, I have now copped on to them.

The Journey
Well little did I know, way back when! that being over qualified was to be seen as a negative quality. Having started my journey though various rounds of interviews, I am now so disallusioned by the unfairness of the process. Yes it is an employers market, but guys you don't have to be so rude and ignorant to those of us that turn up for interviews.
To be fair, most potential employers are okay and I say that lightly. The few that are not I don't think I would like to work for anyway.
But come on, a little bit of courtesy wouldn't go amiss. I mean if I go to the trouble of making contact, biting my nails waiting to be even called for an interview, go to the expense of making myself presentable for the interview, don't just dismiss me after 10mins, because the job you actually advertised does not remotely even come close to what you actually need
Do not tell me that you will be in touch shortly, when you have no intention of doing so.
Employers themselves are one thing, but agencies are the worst bunch, not sure how you sleep at night, but that is for a whole new post
